DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom Perfume

The scent of spring
I tried the DKNY Fresh Blossom today! Wheee! Let's look at the promotional ad for this product, shall we?
Whaaa...t?  Have you guys seen this?
I mean, I knew he was probably going to show up at her doorstep but my first reaction was still like, "Stalker Guy!" She probably never saw that coming, just look her her expression when she opened that door. Just pure seduction of the sensuous green apple (not to mention it lured him from the opposite building at that?!) Seriously?
But hey hey, that's just the video. HAHA. That was some LOLs.
Let's talk about the perfume now. First up, I love the bottle design. Totally apple-y. It's nice and round. But for clumsy people like me, who has fat fingers, I don't think I will be able to maneuver the bottle like the model did in the commercial. Totally professional and seductive. I'd be glad I don't accidentally slip it out of my hands.

Too round for my comfort. Reminds me of my sad waist.
About the fragrance, this is one thing I like that they've done well. First sniffs upon spraying it: DELIGHTFUL like the spring flowers in blossom in front of my eyes.
Sadly, after 2 minutes, most of the smell had dissipated into a lingering musky, powdery scent. But I do like the light, slightly musky whiffs I occasionally get from this perfume, which I notice about 15 mins of spraying it on. I won't actually say it smells delicious, it in fact leans towards a flowery smell than the fruity smell - which I would have appreciated more. (I simply love fruity smells)
For this perfume, however, I don't think it'll last me the day (think about Singapore's HOT HUMID WEATHER!). But I'm pretty confident it'll last me till noon - which is high time for a respray after lunch anyways.
Fragrance Notes: Grapefruit, Cassis, Apricot, Muguet, Rose, Jasmine, Apple, Blond Woods, Smooth Skin Accord
When I was checking the notes out, I was wondering, what the heck is 'Smooth Skin Accord'? I did some light checking on google, only to find out it was some slick marketing term for 'Musk'. I LIKE MUSK. Just use the damn word! LOL.
Just in case you're also wondering...Blond wood a.k.a Cashmeran - another term for a musk-type ingredient.
Musk is sexy. Smooth Skin Accord is like... a word which is probably more apt on a skincare product. (I say this with much love.)

BE DELICIOUS!
Overall, I think this is a nice perfume to add to my lunchtime perfume collection! What more, there's a cool 1-for-1 promotion now at Sasa Singapore! Buy the 100ml and they'll give you the 50ml too! While stocks last only, promotion till 27 April 2014.
So just go and try it. If you like it, now's a good time to get this!
Usual Price: $128 (100ml), $58 (50ml)

Rose De Courrèges Eau De Parfum

Rose De Courrèges Eau De Parfum
I'm only doing this now, but this perfume, known as Rose De Courrèges, have been in the fragrance market since year 2012. French Fashion House, Courrèges, the baby of French designer André Courrèges (who is famed for his futuristic 'space age' clothes collection in year 1964). He was one who is said to have sparked the respectable fashion of mini-dresses (mini dress skirts).

Space Age - Andre Courreges
With this modern eau de parfum, it is a fragrance which is full of feminine charm - or so they say.
Fragrance notes:
Top notes: bamboo leaf, peach and pink grapefruit
Middle notes: Rose, violet and cherry blossom
Base notes: Lotus, amber and musk.

The Rose De Courreges
Personally, after trying this product, I think it smells like the smell you get after you get over with a nice bubble bath. The powdery smell lingers on for the first 10 minutes, but very quickly fades into the moonlight.
But unlike other rose fragrances, this is pleasant to my nose and exudes a soft fragrance, with slight rose scent which does not overpower.  Definitely a keeper for those who loves rose scents. A gentle warning though - respray is needed, probably every once in a while.
Retail Price: $69 (30ml, $129 (90ml) - Available for purchase at Sasa Singapore

Laneige 2014 Serum Intense Lipstick

Laneige 2014 Serum Intense Lipstick
Today, I'm going to talk about Laneige's 2014 Serum Intense Lipstick, a.k.a the LED Lipstick! YAY!
Bold colours, moist, plump lips. You will be able to find this in their new LED Lipstick series. I bought 2! One is the YR24 Twinkle Coral and the other is R12 Luminous Red.

Recently, as I like to go for the bold-lips-pale-face look, so these 2 lipsticks serve me well for this purpose.

Super bold red.
Super bold coral.
At the first look, they don't look much different from other lipsticks out there. But you know what, there is a difference. You will feel it when you apply it!
The lipstick feels so moist and makes your lips stand out so much! Before using this, please make sure you moisturise your lips first and make sure there's no flaking skin before applying. Because this lipstick will attract attention to it.
Here, on the left, you see the luminous red as its applied on my skin. On the left is the twinkle coral.
The luminous red leans towards the fuchsia colour instead of totally looking blood red. The coral stays true to its colour when applied. In fact, after using both, I feel that the coral lipstick is brighter and bolder than the red. I LOVE IT. And I'm saying it with caps.
The only thing I have issue with it is that it is so moist, I have to keep reapplying it because when I drink water, it stains the cup - badly. Don't believe me? See this picture (below).
Btw, the lipstick mark on the left is twinkle coral, and the one on the right is the luminous red.
So bold right? I even did two colours to show you, on a white cup, too! These are its 'true' colours. :)
Other than the fact that it leaves stains on cups when I'm drinking, I'm giving this a high rating because I really love its boldness and wetness. Seriously.
I don't even have to use gloss as it is already that glossy! It truly lives up to its LED name. :)
Me with the luminous red!

Xiao Long Bao (小笼包) Land: Paradise Dynasty (乐天皇朝)

Xiao Long Bao (小笼包) Land: Paradise Dynasty (乐天皇朝)
I went to Paradise Dynasty (Legend of the Xiao Long Bao) with my friends earlier sometime last week to try out the restaurant's signature 8 flavoured soup dumplings!
The restaurant is part of the Paradise Dynasty Group. I am a fan of their food! So here I am at the Vivocity Branch!
The restaurant is HUGE. You don't have to worry about the space here. I came here during lunch early, and it almost seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves. So we chose the seat which is nearest to the glass tall window, which offers us the view of the opposite Sentosa.
There is only Pu-er tea here, so that's what we had.
The lady waitress handed us the menu, and we ordered the signature 8 flavor dumplings ($14.80) at once!

8 flavoured soup dumplings
The soup dumplings were served in multi-colours, namely: White, Green, Light Brown, Black, Yellow, Orange, Grey and Pink. (WHAT?!, you ask.)
Take note, what's interesting is, there's an order to eating these things!
Remember the colours I mentioned above? I have already put them in its eating order.
The flavours:
White: Original Soup Dumpling flavour (Start with this one)
Green: Ginseng
Light Brown: Foie Gras
Black: Black Truffle
Yellow: Cheesy
Orange: Crab Roe
Grey: Garlic
Pink: Szechuan (End with this!)
Apparently, eating it in order enhances the overall taste and will best bring out each of the 8 distinct flavours! To me, the ones which stood out to me the most were the original flavour, the foie gras and the black truffle. The rest had a good taste overall (I totally wasted the Ginseng one because mine broke!!!!!) but did not stand out like the 3 flavours I just mentioned.
The 3 flavours were rich in its soupy formula and nice to taste. If I had to pick my favourite, it would be the Black truffle Xiao Long Bao. My least favourite, however, was the Szechuan (pink) one. I would have appreciated it further if it was more flavourful, rather, it was very mild and not exciting enough.
We also ordered other dishes:

La Mian with Pork Slices and Signature Pork Bone Soup
The La Mian with Sliced Pork in Signature Pork Bone soup ($9.80) was very good in totality. The noodles were of the right consistency, the pork tasted just right (with the right amount of fat), the egg was slightly wobbly in texture but firm.

Ta-dah! Ready to enjoy!
The soup base - OH LA LA - I must say. It was delicious yet did not feel overpowering, like some bone soups can be. It did not taste like it was made up of MSG. I understand from the menu that the this soup has been simmered under slow fire for 12 hours (SERIOUSLY!). I would rate this dish 4 golden stars. hahaha. It fits my requirements for a good lunch, you know. The portion is good for 2 people to enjoy, if you're also ordering the soup dumplings - which is a must-have since you're in a restaurant which specialises in soup dumplings right!

Crisp-Fried Whitebait with Salt and Pepper
Crisp-Fried Whitebait with Salt and Pepper ($9.80) was well done. I loved the slight taste of salt as I munch down these crispy things. No taste of pepper, but this makes for a very good snack. :D Unfortunately, I felt that it was quite expensive for such a small plate. The size is not exactly worth its price.

Shanghai Fried Rice
The Shanghai fried rice ($10.80) is nice, it is not too oily and not too dry. Ingredients also tasted fresh and succulent (prawn bits).

Cold tofu with Century Egg
What do you get when you put cold tofu and century egg together? One of my favourite dishes! This dish was appetizing and a tad salty. But the good kind, if you know what I mean. Century egg is something you enjoy if you love it, and if you don't love it, you'll probably never enjoy it no matter how they make it. Thank goodness, I love it! Such a boring name and a literal translation at that - Cold tofu with Century Egg ($6.80), pretty much explains it all. :)
Dessert Time! How can we miss this out?

Souffle Egg White Balls Stuffed with Red Bean and Banana

Pan fried Pastry Red Bean Pancake
We shared the Souffle Egg White Balls Stuffed with Red Bean and Banana (3 pcs for $4.80) and the Pan fried Pastry Red Bean Pancake ($6.50).
I can't say I love the dessert, because I'm not exactly a red bean and banana person. But I have to say that they have made this traditional dessert very well and I enjoyed eating it regardless. I also like that for the red bean pancake, the outer skin tastes like puff pastry. It was interesting to eat and it's something I would recommend to my friends to check out.
In summary, I feel that the food here is still a tad expensive, but really worth a try! But for the budget conscious, I would really just order the noodle soup and the 8 coloured soup dumplings, because these 2 dishes have left the most impact on me during this visit. :)

Belif's Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate

Belif's Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate
Today I will be reviewing one of Belif's Signature product, the Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate! Previously, I have mentioned that I will be reviewing my Belif Beauty Haul, so here it is!
As you can see from the bottle, I'm only reviewing this after some use of the product! Wheeee! I love this product and am religiously using it for my skincare essence step every morning while prepping to go to work.
I love the easy pump dropper, especially when I see it take up some of the miracle essence. :D

Anyway, set aside my quirky habits, this product is really watery and not oily AT ALL (for all you oily skins out there), this is THE PRODUCT!! There is only 1 size available - the 30ml bottle. Sounds little? But with each use, you only need about 1-3 drops, so 30ml will last you a very long time. I have a big face (how many times do I have to emphasize this!), but  I'm only about a quarter into the bottle after about 1-1.5 months of use.
Once it gets absorbed (really quickly, about 10 secs max), you start to see your skin lighten slightly. After about 1-2 weeks of use, my skin looks brighter and feels softer.
Despite its petite frame, this product packs a punch and is a really good product to include in your skincare regiment. It retails for $85 at all Belif counters.

Clio Virgin Kiss Lipnicure Tint

Clio Virgin Kiss Lipnicure Tint
This lip tint is hardcore. It will not smudge, it will not be easily removed, even with a lip makeup remover. Yes, for some of you, you probably already know that I'm talking about Clio's Virgin Kiss Lipnicure.
The selling point of this series are the nail polish-like bottles, just like how you paint your fingernails, you end up doing that to your lip. Like a manicure for the lips, hence the name Lipnicure.

Pretty ingenious, I must say. The Korean brand features the hot Korean 2NE1's Dara on all shelves in Watsons Stores. (How her lips looked so hot in those lipnicure lip tint colours, I have no idea!)
I have 3 of their tints, namely: Tension Red, Crime Pink and Rumor Coral. The image below shows the colors on my skin.
[From Left] Tension Red, Crime Pink, Rumor Coral
As you can see, the colors are vibrant and strong. It will look exactly the same, applied to your lips. The only thing I don't like about this is how hardy this lip tint is - in fact, it is too hardy that it dries up like a true nail polish being smeared on your lips. It also feels SUPER MATT after that. If it dries, you're pretty much stuck with however you applied it the instant it dries. Hence, I don't dare to use it all over my lips as it makes me look like I have super thick sausage lips.
If you happen to smudge it (outside your lip area), and it dries, good luck to you! Lip makeup = Ruined for the day.
Strangely, despite its hardiness on lips, most of it would be gone after a meal. Other than that, using makeup removers / rubbing it / scrubbing it would probably not get it off. Even if it does, most of the colour still stays. (IKR, right?) And did I mention that if you rub your lips together after it has dried, you'll probably end up with lip skin flaking out? That part freaks me out THE MOST.
True, there are bloggers posting to teach you how to use this lip tint, or how to apply it. But that's probably useful after you're stuck with it. So check those out if you're stuck with one. If you're not, why take the risk?
[Laneige's new LED Lipstick series can get the same effect after you apply it, I will be reviewing that very soon.]
To me, lip tints don't have to be applied with so much difficulty. It also feels uncomfortable and very dry after it dries. Skin from my lips peel and I don't like that AT ALL.
My overall take, I'm better off without it. And I guess, so are you. Just get the normal tints out there, we don't have much time in the morning to makeup before work, so why make yourself suffer?
Of course, if this is something you really want to try it though, they're selling at major Watsons stores at the Clio shelves for about $18.

Versace Bright Crystal Fragrance

Versace Bright Crystal Fragrance
This has to be one of my favourite perfumes of all time. I came across it when I was given a sample of it at a Sasa outlet after some beauty purchases (haha).
This is an amazing bottle filled with the potion of captivating fragrance. Named Bright Crystal by Versace, it illuminates a woman's sensual side, also highlighting her youthfulness. How one bottle can do all this, I don't know. But it did. The beauty of this fragrance is in its miraculous weaving of a nice tinge of energy yet also containing the attractiveness of a young flower in bloom. Image you're standing in the midst of a field of beautiful flowers that seems to go to the ends of the horizon. At least to me, that's how it smells like.
The perfume was strong too. Not in a bad way, but really stubborn in a great way. After applying a little of it on my wrist, the scent stayed strong even after I washed my hands and wrists - with soap. The distinctive smell doesn't wear off easily, and that's one of the reasons why I love it. This Made-in-Italy scent reminds me why I love applying perfume in the first place. The smell fades away after a few washes of my wrist - of course - we're not looking for something permanent here. The aim is to look for a perfume which sticks as long as possible, and it pretty much makes the grade.
Notes from Versace: Pomegranate, Yuzu, Magnolia, Peony, Lotus Flowers
It's magic in a clear, crystal bottle.
This Versace fragrance is definitely worth the buy.
