My name is Janel (고혜령), a Singapore-based lifestyle, food and travel creator. What started back in late 2015 as a dedicated food blog has organically evolved into a full-scale lifestyle archive chronicling my culinary adventures across Singapore, beauty discoveries and deep-dive travel itineraries across South Korea, Japan and beyond.
The story behind the blog:
Photography has always been at the heart of this space. Long before upgrading to a DSLR, I was capturing food and everyday moments on old-school mobile phones. Every single photo, review, and recommendation featured here represents a genuine, first-hand experience - if I haven’t eaten it, worn it or traveled there myself, you won't find it on this blog.
Before establishing this platform, my background was deeply rooted in media and public relations:
- K-Entertainment Media and PR: Spent four years (2010–2014) as a contributor and Regional PR Lead (APAC) for an English-based Korean entertainment portal, covering major K-pop concerts, press conferences, and conducting interviews with indie acts like Lucite Tokki and J.Rabbit.
- Korean language and culture enthusiast: While I am often asked if I am Korean, I am a Singaporean local who has spent nearly two decades learning the language, studying the culture and building lasting connections with South Korea.
