Proofer brings sushi into the heartlands: Yuba Hut
Behind the same team who runs Proofer comes Yuba Hut. This time, they've entered the heartlands, bringing various Japanese favourites, like makis, rice bowls, yakitori combinations, sashimi, etc, to the North-East crowd.

A fast-food concept, the eatery is not very spacious and only houses a couple of tables.

We tried the Champion Floss Maki ($9.90 for 4 pieces), Cream cheese mentaiko Salmon ($9.90 for 4 pieces), Salmon Aburi Don ($14.90) and Spicy Salmon Don.

I kinda like the cream cheese mentaiko salmon maki, which promises a rich and cheesy flavour. It's sinful and pretty delicious.

If you're one of those who likes century egg, you might want to try their Taiyou Century Egg Maki ($9.90 for 4 pieces) - unfortunately I must say that this did not impress me as much because I had expected a richer century egg flavour, which did not come through.

I must say that the Spicy Salmon Don offers the most kick for me, though a handful of customers might likely find the spicy salmon don to be a tad too spicy for their liking.

Visitors might also be happy to note that all prices listed , which begin from $6.90, are at nett prices.

Seoul's Village 11 Factory (빌라쥬11팩토리): #Geek_Strange_Lab and Moisture Cream Review

Seoul's Village 11 Factory (빌라쥬11팩토리): #Geek_Strange_Lab and Moisture Cream Review
So, in my recent trip to Seoul, I visited Seoul's artistic cosmetic brand: Village 11 Factory. Situated in Garosugil, one cannot stop but to enter this lovely shop decked in white and shades of light pink.

So pretty. This beauty emporium just opened earlier this year in January 2017, and has 2 floors - both worthy of exploring. The first storey looks like a factory / chemist lab of sorts, which the second floor has specially designed themed settings that are oh-so-insta-worthy.

From here on, I'll let the photos speak for itself.

Within this space, you can try any cosmetics or skincare on display, including their own home brand: Village 11 Factory, MIZON and AGATHA.

I couldn't help but to buy their moisture cream, because this moisturiser, albeit in cream form, absorbs quickly and is not sticky at all! Also, it is very lightly scented (which to be honest I don't mind at all) and it's a scent which I think is very attractive.

Made mainly with plant oils, eco ceramide and natural skincare ingredients. It's supposed to help retain moisture on skin for a longer time and make it healthier with eco ceramide contents. For more information, check out this page (only in Korean though, sorry!)

[How to use] After using serum, gently spread a suitable amount on skin for absorption.

Unfortunately, I'm enjoying using this cream so much that I kind of regretted not buying more from here. But well, no choice, I'll have to save it for my next Seoul trip!

Review: Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint

Review: Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint

When I got these and applied them for the first time, I got no idea why I went retro and started humming Beyonce's Crazy in Love. Yes, you know it, sing it!

'Cuz baby you got me, you got me, so crazy baby HEY!

Enough with that. Now on to the lippies. These lippies are gorgeous. The packaging of the lippie itself feels classy and looks pretty with all that gold text.

I bought the shades XOXO and BLING (6ml each). Each cost about SGD$32.

If you build the colour on your lips, it would become very vibrant. But for work, I like to keep it down a notch without losing colour. Hence, I usually apply some colour on my lower lip and brush it out to the rest of my lips before the entire thing dries. So far it has worked well for me, ensuring a long lasting lip colour that doesn't fade too easily for more than half the day (if I don't eat oily foods).

It dries very quickly, within 20 seconds. The lippie provides full coverage. The application process was very smooth as well.

For cracked lips, I suggest you moisturise first before applying this. The lippie doesn't feel very dry, but its matte finish highlights the cracks on your lips.

I love this lippie because it feels light after applying it and the lippie is well pigmented! I also like that this lippie is formulated without parabens and phthalates. This product is also vegan friendly. :)

Here's how a one time full lip application looks on me. Both photos were taken under slightly different lighting circumstances, if you were wondering why my photo colours look different.

Visiting South Union Park's Newly Launched Breakfast Menu

Visiting South Union Park's Newly Launched Breakfast Menu

I must confess that I have not tried any lunch items on their menu, despite having heard some pretty good things about their food. As an east sider, I really am unhappy over the lack of good cafes in the east area.

South Union Park is going to change that for me. Nestled in a private residential area, it's 2 stone throws away (yes, I mean this, like a 5 min walk) from Kembangan MRT station.

I heard how they recently started a breakfast service (9am to 12pm) every weekend and proceeded to head down with another east sider friend to check it out.

The cafe is a cozy one, and upon arrival, I already got to see a couple of families having breakfast here. This place was opened sometime in mid-2016, if I'm not wrong.

There is no service charge or GST here, and patrons are encouraged to tip their staff for good service. The staffers were really polite and friendly, I really liked that about this place. It's a really nice and comfortable environment to chill out with family or friends during the weekends.

Voila! The breakfast menu.

We ordered the apple oats ($9) and the SUPer breakfast ($15).

For the drinks, my friend had the hibiscus cold brew tea ($5) and I had a matcha latte ($5). The matcha latte wasn't very strong in terms of the matcha taste but I really liked it somehow. It was not sweet as well because the sugar is served on the side. The hibiscus cold brew tea was one of their signatures and it was pretty nice as well. I will go back one day to try the coffees.

Here, the SUPer breakfast. Looks wise, it looked pretty similar to macdonald's big breakfast. But I'm really glad that it tastes nothing like it. I would have liked the scrambled eggs to be slightly more runny and creamy, though. We had a choice to choose either breakfast sausage patty or bacon. I don't think I can stay away from any sausage patty so that's what I chose.

The oily patty was good with the house muffins, and the butter lettuce salad provided some relief from the oily combo. You know, breakfasts.

What impressed me was the seemingly 'simple' apple oats, served with caramelised apples, walnuts, organic maple syrup. Seriously, this was pretty delicious for me. And I think I would like to head back for some french toast and baked eggs soon.

Oh yes, also - to try their lunch menu where I heard they've got duck skin fries? I mean, come on. That's gonna win hands down for me.

Overall, I guess you will probably see me back there very soon to try the rest of their menu items. :)
