Seoul Exciting 2014 - Day 4 and 5

Here's the day 4 and day 5 of my Seoul Exciting Trip in late April 2014!

What's in this post:
Day 4:
- Yoogane
- Ewha University
- Cafe Caribou Coffee
- Mapo Kalmaegi

Day 5:
- Jaedong Sundubu
- Hangang Park & Rental of Bicycle
- Cloud Cafe
- Street Food

Yoogane
One of my favourite 'fast food' eateries in Korea. My sissy and I enjoyed coming back so much, it was our little 'comfort' place. Easy to order, and just pleasant to eat, we visited about 5 times in various locations - Myeongdong, Hongdae, Gangnam and more.

Ewha University
Home to only women students, Ewha Womens University holds lovely scenery within its campus. A must visit for first time Seoul travelers, remember to take a photo on their long entrance path (photo above) or visit their school campus visitors centre for purchase of some merchandise.

Cafe Caribou Coffee
Took a rest at this cafe, but it makes one of the worst coffees I've had. It was overly sweet, and it was a waste of money. While it did provide a really relaxing rest point for me, but I should have rested somewhere else with better coffee. Won't be further reviewing this place or providing location details.

Mapo Kalmaegi
Lovely BBQ place! I loved the tender meats and lovely quick service. Location was also convenient and they served one of the best marinated meats I ate.

Location: 169-11 Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Update (in December 2015): Seems like it has closed down! The last visit I had showed that it was no longer there. :(

You can still check for other branches in Seoul to try their food, though!

Jaedong Sundubu
A favourite tofu stew place for locals, they serve up one of the finest tofu stews in the area. Just 2 minutes away from the subway exit, more people should know about this alleyway eatery. Friendly service, but visitors should take note that they only have the menu in Korean. However, they do manage very basic English skills, so do check this place out.

Hangang Park & Rental of Bicycle
This enormous park is another must-visit. We rented bicycles and had a joyride, passing through 2 stunning bridges on the way. Although it was a weekday, many families and some individuals came to cycle. Even cycling groups! It was so wide and spacious, great for picnics! The view of the hangang river was stunning too.

Location: 8, Yeoeuido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Cloud Cafe (Gureum Cafe)
Check out the stunning views of the Banpo bridge in this cafe. It gets really crowded at night, so remember to come early! We had the tonkatsu chicken set here, and it was quite big and yummy, but it doesn't come too cheap either.

Location: 1333-1 Banpobon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Update (as at June 2014): Heard that operations for the cafe has ceased, while the building is still there. :( Please take note.

Dinner: Street Food
We had street food quite a bit during the trip! Here's one friendly uncle sticking his head out to let me capture a photo. They sell mung bean pancakes by the roadside in Hongdae, alongside some other street food like Odeng, etc. Loved it, as it was really affordable and filling! Look out for such street food along the way and try their food!
