Dongdaemun for Shopping
Dongdaemun shopping is pretty interesting, because it reminds me of pasar malam, but a very packed one, and all stuffed in a building. Not just 1 building, but many. The shopping area spans a wide area. Yes, you will not be able to remember which stall you bought your clothes from, because the stalls mostly look similar! And it was too packed and claustrophobic for me but for clothes, hey, who cares? The clothes are not really that cheap to me, because I was expecting it to be even cheaper. But if you compare it with the other shops out there, yes, this place is pretty cheap!

Dakhanmari and Grilled Fish Alley / Jeonju Shikdang (Grilled Fish)
The dakhanmari and grilled fish alley starts from here. But take note, just the grilled fish itself is filling, hence you mayn't be able to have both dakhanmari and grilled fish in the same time period.

Jeonju Shikdang (Grilled fish) - The photo shows the first grilled fish stall of the Grilled Fish alley. It showed so many celebrities visiting the shop, so we decided to go with this one. Fish are grilled on top of a charcoal grill, then enjoy the tender grilled fish with soy sauce and wasabi!

Location: Dongdaemun Station Exit 9, walk 200meters and turn left when you see IBK Bank. Then walk straight for 30 seconds (past all the street stalls) and turn into the first alley on the right to see the image above.

Jinwook Halmae Dakhanmari 진옥화할매원조닭한마리
The dakhanmari alley is connected to the grilled fish alley as well, and the dish literally means 'one whole chicken'. This broth is comforting, and reminds me of homemade macaroni soup. The whole chicken is boiled and you can add on rice cakes, noodles and kimchi in the broth to make it flavourful. Also, their dipping sauce is a must try with the chicken! So addictive!

Location: 18 Jong-ro 40ga-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Myeongdong for shopping
Myeongdong is one of my favourite areas, despite the many sales staff trying to speak to me in Chinese or Japanese. Yes, it's that filled with tourists. I like to call it the cosmetics shopping area, because it has so many shops selling cosmetic products. I can spend alot whenever I come here, and if guys who are accompanying their girlfriends are bored, I suggest you can try out the street snacks here, which are pretty addictive too!

Paris Baguette 파리바게뜨
Paris Baguette are a plenty in Korea. I visited the branch in Myeongdong, and I loved it. Partially because of the company. Their wide offerings of bread are very good too. And I do enjoy their drinks, as they have many varieties! When you are there, check out the lovely cakes they have. Super pretty designs!

Location: The branch I went was along the stretch going towards Sejong Hotel. You can either exit from Myeongdong Subway Station (Exit 9 or 10) and if you walk towards Sejong Hotel, you should be able to see it easily on the left.

Kang Ho Dong Baek Jeong 강호동 백정
Baekjeong is a restaurant opened by one of the top South Korean hosts, Kang Ho-Dong (강호동). I knew of him when he was hosting popular variety show, Xman, and I was a fan of him on the show. When I saw this shop while shopping around Myeongdong last year (sometime in year 2013), I was so excited but didn't have the stomach space to give it a try. This year, I did! But it was packed with tourists, unlike last year, and I was given a queue number to wait (about 40 minutes!). By the time I got to eat this, it was about 9pm? But I didn't regret it. :)

Location: 3-3 Myeongdong 2(i)-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea (19-3 Myeongdong 10-gil)

Caffe Bene (Internet Cafe)
Before boarding the plane back home, we had a simple tea and coffee here, plus a oreo waffle with icecream and whipped cream! Visitors to this cafe can also use their computers to log on to the internet.

Location: Duty-free Area, Boarding Area 3F, Concourse, Near Gate 124
