The few-months old outlet, which opened in November 2016, had its grand opening in NEX shopping mall on 9 Dec 2016, accompanied by the lively and adorable mascot.
When I was there, I tried the recommended Lovely Jimbo ($5, fried chicken breast), Running Jimbo ($4.80, Fried Chicken Thigh), Cutey Jimbo ($4.80, Jimbo Fried Chicken) and Flying Jimbo ($3.80, 2pc Fried Chicken Wings).
The order took about 5-10 minutes or so, while we busily snapped pictures with our adorable packaged drinks.
There are 4 drinks to choose from: Kamquat & Lemon Juice, Earl Grey Milk Tea, Roselle and Lychee Black Tea. Out of all, my heart went to the Lychee Black Tea, as I felt it went the best with the fried chicken dish.
What's Jimbo you ask?
'Jimbo' is the direct Chinese translation of 'treasure'!
The treasure consists of 3 main points: using the best parts of chicken in their food, quality ingredients and exceptional customer service.
The freshly cooked chicken is served only when you place an order, just like in Taiwan! So the flesh stays juicy and tender, while the outer layer is extremely crispy!
To be honest, I really liked the Cutey Jimbo as it's a little more savoury than the rest. Most loved the Running Jimbo, which features juicy chicken thigh. Couldn't stop munching on that one too!
Customers are also able to complement their Jimbo Classics with choices sides and drinks from a list of set meals for a heartier feast. Sides include the Jimbo Rice, Mashed Potatoes, Onion Rings and Crispy French Fries.
