UK, Cambridge: Day 2 Roundup - Cambridge

UK, Cambridge: Day 2 Roundup - Cambridge

I love the airy fields of Cambridge! Was strolling around and loved how blue the skies were. We rarely get such 'scenery' in Singapore (being a metropolitan city) so I did appreciate how spacious the fields were here.

Our hotel was truly gorgeous. Loved the reception waiting area.

As we were walking my sister to Cambridge University, we decided to have some sandwiches for breakfast, and stopped by Cambridge Blue Sandwiches. They are a small eatery with a reasonable price for sandwiches. They also had a couple of ready sandwiches for those rushing for time, grab-and-go. Our quick meal here costed £16.50 (approx SGD$30) for a cup of coffee and a sandwich.

The weather turned dreary pretty quickly, and started drizzling. We head back to the hotel to borrow a couple of umbrellas for us, so we could continue to stroll around after my sister head for her conference. We saw many lovely building structures, and it was really like nothing we've seen before. It was really lovely.

After a couple hours of strolling, we decided to park ourselves at Côte Brasserie for lunch. This eatery is a French brasserie chain, serving regional specialities and traditional classics. The place was full during lunch hours, the staff were friendly and professional, sports a varied menu and we truly enjoyed our food there. Click here to read more about Cote Brasserie experience here.

More strolling around the area.

We also strolled right into Cambridge Market at the Market Square, where there's a wide range of goods such as fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, flowers, crafts and more! The plaza is also known as Market Hill and has been functioning since the Saxon era.

This is right at the city centre, and the market opens everyday from 10am–4pm.

Self-explanatory store: Chocolat Chocolat. They offer fancy chocolate bonbons & housemade ice cream by the scoop. We obviously bought some to try, and their chocolate ice-cream? Woohoo! So rich and flavourful!

Don't we all love us some big ass burritos?

After a whole day of strolling, we ended our day with dinner at Wagamama. Again, we're at another bustling eatery, filled with people - they have fast service and pretty reasonable quality food. Again, I'm saying this because wagamama is selling asian food, and I'm Asian. So I have pretty high standards, but I have to be honest and say that this place would be offering pretty good quality food for those craving asian food in UK.
