Vino Tinto: Newest Spanish Dining Place Opens Shop in CBD

When you think of Spain, chances are, you think of flamenco, tapas, and of course, vino tinto (which literally just means red wine in Spanish).

And now, thanks to Chefs Daniel & Tamara Chávez, the owners behind Spanish concept TINTO and Mexican concept TOMATILLO, you don’t have to fly 13 hours to get a taste of Spain—just head down to their newest spot, VINO TINTO Spanish Tapas and Wine Bar, right at One Raffles Quay!

Taking its name from Spain's beloved red wine, VINO TINTO brings you on a flavour-packed journey through the country’s diverse regions. Located in the lobby of One Raffles Quay, this spot seems to be buzzing most nights and I get why.

It's not only near the CBD, and even though the partially open-concept restaurant is located just at the ground floor of the office tower, the atmosphere is casual yet classy.

And more importantly, the food? Absolutely legit.

Here’s what we had:

TOSTAS RAMONA ($24)

Crystal Bread, Spanish Anchovies, Burrata Cheese, Crushed Tomatoes, Dried Figs – a little sweet, a little salty and a whole lot of yum. This was hands down something I will come back to eat.

GAMBAS AL AJILLO ($26)

Prawns in Roasted Garlic Oil & Dried Chilli, Garlic Chips, Light Potato Purée – garlicky, juicy, and just the right amount of heat. We enjoyed every bit of that potato puree, dipping it in the free bread that was served to us!

MUSHROOM CROQUETTES (V) ($10 for 3 pcs)

Light Hummus, Idiazabal Cheese, Mushroom Oil – crispy and creamy. It wasn't exactly our top favourite though. I saw more people ordering the fish croquettes. Will try that next time instead!

PULPO AL BRASA ($28)

Chipotle Mayo, Grapes, Toasted Migas, Smoked Paprika Oil – tender, lightly charred octopus chunks on top of a bed of chilli mayo, grapes, toasted crumbs! We loved this!

SEAFOOD PAELLA

Okay, so their paella is on the drier side. Personally, I like mine a little wetter, but hey, the saffron short-grain rice was deeply flavoured, had that crispy socarrat (aka charred bottom layer), and was still good. If you like it drier, you’ll love it. I also love that it was packed with ingredients!

Dessert: MINI TRES LECHES ($8)

Traditional Moist Coconut Cake, Mixed Berries, Vanilla Cream – small but mighty, and oh-so-satisfying.

We were so stuffed but super happy (and didn’t even order wine because both of us were on an alcohol fast… I know, cue sad face).

All in all, great food, fantastic service and such a relaxing place to unwind after a long day. They also serve vegan dishes! Check out their lunch and dinner menus here

Muchas gracias, Vino Tinto, for a wonderful meal!
