Air Japan: Exploring Fare Options for Singapore-Tokyo Flights

Air Japan: Exploring Fare Options for Singapore-Tokyo Flights

Who is ready to head to Japan?

Recently I was just checking for fares on a whim to head over to Japan, but couldn't make up my mind as fares were clocking in at starting prices of SGD $800 for the known airlines - such as Japan Airlines (JAL) and Singapore Airlines (SQ).

Well, starting 26 April 2024, Air Japan is set to launch its new route between Singapore and Tokyo, offering travelers an affordable way to explore the Land of the Rising Sun. With fares starting from just SGD $179, Air Japan is poised to become a game-changer in budget travel to Japan.

Air Japan is a budget airline under ANA (All Nippon Airways).

Currently, the budget airline offers passengers three distinct fare tiers, each designed to cater to different travel needs. Here it goes.

Fare Tiers

Simple Fare
Targeted towards travelers seeking a no-frills option, the Simple Fare provides essential services without the added cost. Passengers opting for this fare can enjoy carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kg.

Standard Fare
The Standard Fare includes basics such as assigned seats, carry-on baggage (up to 7 kg) and a single piece of check-in baggage of up to 23 kg. With the option to select advance assigned seating, which may cost up to SGD $13.40 (approx 1500 JPY), passengers can secure their preferred seats onboard, ensuring a more comfortable journey.

Selected Fare
Catering to travelers seeking a premium travel experience without the hefty price tag, in addition to assigned seats and check-in baggage, passengers can indulge in special in-flight meals and a wide range of other options, promising a near-complete travel experience.

What's available in this seat class? Carry-on baggage, up to two pieces of check-in baggage (up to 23 kilogrammes in total), seat selection and in-flight meal

Types of seats provided and the meals they serve on board for specific routes, check out the information here and here respectively.

Fares to Narita

While the excitement surrounding Air Japan's Singapore-Tokyo route continues to grow, I've tried to check it out but the fares from Singapore to Narita are still currently unavailable. However, as the news just dropped, you probably can expect fares to be accessible soon. You'll probably need to check back on their site for updates on the route for now.

Only the return to Singapore is available, but not the departure country (tested on 27 Feb 2024)

For more information and bookings, visit Air Japan's official website.
