BSKIN launches in Singapore and is out to target smart beauty consumers

I attended the BSkin launch event at Angela May Food Chapters with another pretty blogger friend, Elaine just last week.

What is BSkin?

1. A skincare brand that uses special formulations tailor made to Asian skin.
2. Their products contain B2O, a potent bee-based compound, usually found in their signature honey products from their parent company (HDI Singapore).
3. The products are made in collaboration with Korea and are tested safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

We were treated to pretty treats, special mocktails and honey cookies by Angela May herself, which she formulated with the honey that BSKIN's parent company (HDI Singapore) specialises in.

At the launch, we were introduced to stories by brand ambassadors whose skin texture had improved drastically after using these products on themselves over a year.

We've heard from an ex-lawyer, who had acne problems as her job faced many stressful situations and sleepless/late nights. After seeing the before/after photos, many of us were shocked that she was the same person in the before photos as her skin looked radiant and flawless in person.

Their skincare lines boost many anti-oxidant related ingredients, such as 7B complex, vitamin C and E, CoQ10, alphalipoic acid (enhancer for anti-oxidant ingredients) and glutathione (whitening properties).

Another star highlight of the night was the introduction of this product, known as ELVi (SGD$464). It stands for: Energy Light Vibration Iontophoresis. It's basically has 2 modes (facial or lifting). I think what stood out for me was that it could help users achieve the 'V' shaped face in the comfort of their own homes.

I brought home the Vita Advanced Series, which, in itself is a programme aimed to revitalize, renew and restore tired, dull and sagging skin. Because I usually sleep less than 5 hours a day, it seems like this could do good for my skin.

There are 5 products in this line:

1. Soft Bead Cleanser ($65, 100ml)
2. Natual Balance Essence ($76, 140ml)
3. Intense PAF Concentrate ($158, 30ml)
4. Active Day Cream ($121, 40ml)
5. Regenerative Night Cream ($128, 50g)

This line mainly is formulated to prevent the formation of melanin, lighten dark spots and hyper pigmentation, slow down the degradation of collagen and hydrate the skin.

One of the must-have products from this series is the Intense PAF Concentrate, which contains a oil-like liquid in a 30ml bottle.

"A potent and powerful vitamin C serum containing an unbeatable 20% concentration of stabilised L-Ascorbic Acid. This high-performance serum infuses the skin with a proprietary PAF complex, helping to boost collagen production and stimulate cell repair. It offers the skin an unparalleled level of anti-oxidant protection which effectively revitalizes and rejuvenates dull, sagging skin."

Even when it looked like oil, I liked how the absorption rate was high and swift. Because, you know, you're probably not going to want a sticky, oily face in such a high humidity level weather as you try to hit the sack. This product might be able to last about a month or two from the looks of it as you only need to use this before you sleep, and you don't have to use much each time, just enough to evenly light coat over your face.

Overall, I liked their products for its quick absorption rates and ability to quench the thirst of my skin.

Also, another thing to note is how they thought through the usability process of their products by a simple step of adding in the step number on each product, so users know which one to use first. Never do you have to try to remember if you should use essence before your serum first or vice-versa. Very convenient for forgetful beauty users like myself.

They also have 2 other lines: White Glow line (for whitening) and the Matte Black Line (mainly for men, but can be used by women as well)
