Last week, I visited Hadara Aesthetics Boutique, located around Clarke Quay area, for a facial session.
I was greeted by a clean, minimalist shop setting, with a relaxing feel. Once I entered the shop, I saw rows and rows of the little white and transparent bottles of Dermagold products on display.
Some brand background on Hadara:
The other, YY Low, is a health psychologist with previous experience in counseling overweight kids at Health Promotion Board (HPB). She was also a former-model-turned-mum. Together combined, amassing a two decade wealth of knowledge on skincare and managing weight, they decided to share what they know with the rest of the world, and thus spells the birth of Hadara Aesthetics Boutique.
Their motto is "For skin you dare to bare". (Yes, sign me up for that, please!)
I was asked to fill up a form with my details, on my skin concerns, etc. A typical process which most, if not all, beauty salons would ask of its new customers.
My beauty therapist, Amy, then took a look at my concerns and she told me the type of treatment I would be getting for that session: the Hadara Essential Facial (60min) and the Hadara Sparkling Eye Therapy ($88).
I made a note to tell her that I was wearing contact lens, and she assured me that it was alright to put it on.
Note: If you have your contact lens on, please be sure to tell your therapist that as well and make sure it is alright to proceed!
The facial consisted of the following steps:
1. Cleanse
2. Scrub with DermaGold's award winning scrub
3. Steam and Extraction
4. Application of Hydra Recovery Gel with cold hammer
5. A final hydration mask
Amy was quite patient with me as my extraction took some time. I had so many black and whiteheads and she made sure she got all those buggers out for me! Good riddance.
I do have to say that her technique for extractions were pretty good, and she does let you know whenever you might have to brace for pain. She is very good with her hands and the gentle massage and application of products on the face made my skin feel very pampered. I also liked that she will let me know which part of the facial we are at, so I'm updated of what she is going to do next.
As for the Hadara Sparkling Eye Therapy, she used the stem cell + brightening + lifting + anti-aging therapy, followed by a lovely eye massage which relaxed the areas around my tired eyes. This is especially good for working class (including the men!) who stare at the computer screen all day.
Here's the range of products I used during the facial. Amy also had a whole lot of knowledge on skincare and as she was doing the treatment for me, she also shared some tips on managing my skin. (I won't show you my face with mask and all, because, I'm sure you already know how putting a mask or extraction seems like!)
Facials and weight management packages come at a reasonable price, I'm not going to list any prices here because they have different price packages at different periods. Do check with them directly if you are interested.
Overall, I don't feel like I had any preferential treatment just because I was invited to try their service. I would like to thank Amy for her great service and my super clean, smooth face at the end of the day.

I went home bare faced like that ok! It's really "skin I dare to bare" on the harsh white lights of our MRT trains! #nofilter okay. (Pardon my blur look, I just opened my eyes after the entire 1.5hr session!)
