The menu offers a good variety of pastas, risotto, main dishes, sides and desserts.
Under recommendation, I had the:
Pan Fried Seared Salmon & French Lentils ($18.50)
This dish was not bad, I would say. It features a pan fried salmon set on top of spinach and mashed potatoes.
The only thing I didn't get about it was the topping... the half cherry tomato on top of a sliced lemon. I'm not sure of the taste they are trying to create here, but I did try to squeeze some lemon juice on top of my salmon for enjoyment. The tomato was just superfluous to me, just an addition of colour and it did not taste nice smeared with citrus.
Spaghetti Aglio Olio Con Pollo Crocante ($15.20)
The pasta was tossed with onion, garlic, chilli flakes & olive oil sauce and tasted most garlicky. I'm not complaining because I love garlic, but not everyone might like this.
The texture of the spaghetti was not that impressive but the sauce had improved the overall taste. I liked the crispy chicken they served, because it was deep fried to perfection.
Parmesan & Truffle Fries ($9.80)
These fries are peppered and tossed in truffle salt, white truffle oil and parmesan cheese.
Unfortunately, when I had it, the truffle taste was unevenly distributed and even so, the parmesan cheese hadn't done anything to enhance the taste of the fries.
Verdict
The price is most reasonable and the food portions are quite generous. Taste standards are higher than average, in comparison to other western restaurants of the same price range, and would feed western food lovers well. Definitely a nice place for families to visit.Ambush
