It was recently my birthday and my lovely friend treated me to lunch at Jamie's Italian restaurant (by Jamie Oliver)!

At the table...
First up, we had the baked mushrooms ($12.50) under the Bruschetta and Antipasti section. It was served piping hot from the oven with buffalo mozarella just melted on sliced mushrooms.
Underneath it all, there was a very thin type of bread baked to perfection as it was super crispy! They call this the 'music bread', and I'm thinking because they make sounds when you bite into them? I'm not sure, but this dish was really good.
For my main, I had the 220g RUMP Steak ($20.50). It was served with garlic & parsley butter, rainbow coleslaw and skinny fries.
I had it medium well done, because I just didn't want to see blood. But I would have liked the meat better if it was just cooked medium, and not medium well.
I loved how well the garlic & parsley butter went with the meat and it really gave a nice combined flavour. The rainbow coleslaw tasted fresh and different from those you get at other restaurants because they use natural yoghurt instead of mayonnaise.
Lastly, I LOVED the skinny fries. You have to try it, it is so addictive. I was so full from the main course but I just could not stop munching on it. :)
My friend had the Meatball Pappardelle ($14 / $24). You must be wondering why there's 2 prices. The $14, we learnt, was an appetiser portion, whereas the $24 is the main course portion. My friend, who usually doesn't eat alot, ordered the $24 version. But she couldn't really finish the pasta as it was quite substantial. So if you don't want to eat so much pasta, you may wish to opt for the $14 version.
The beef & pork meatballs, unfortunately, tasted slightly 'frozen'. It didn't feel like it was fresh meatballs but the pasta itself was really good. It was really wiggly and it had reminded me of octopus tentacles. haha!
The entire dish were cooked in tomatoes, garlic, red wine and herby breadcrumbs, which really gave it an interesting texture. The breadcrumbs were served on a spoon and the server told us to mix it up, as much as we want.
I liked that the noodles were really long too. haha, It was an interesting pasta!
As for the drink, I ordered the Apple mojito ($8.50). It was really refreshing - served with muddled lime & sugar with fresh mint, topped with apple juice.
I enjoyed this experience, but felt that the dishes like the Meatball Pappardelle could have been done better! Also, I was a little disappointed at the lack of dessert offerings.
During payment time, they also gave us our receipts in a nice card, which shared products we could purchase, if we want.
Jamie's Italian
Location: 1 HarbourFront Walk, VivoCity, #1 165-167, Singapore 098585
Tel: +65-67335500
Website: Vivocity Branch
Directions: Take the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) to Harbourfront (Purple Line NE1, Orange Line CC29). Vivocity is very big. It is easy to get 'lost' inside this mega mall. I suggest you head towards the Exit B for HarbourFront Centre, instead of Vivocity. Once you exit the station, turn left and you will see Cheers (convenience store). Ignore everything else and walk ALL the way straight. You will pass Macdonalds and Mos Burger along the way. Continue straight. At the next junction, turn left. You will see a mini halal food court - Bagus. Exit through the glass door in between Bagus. You will see Starbucks not far, across the small pathway. Enter the entrance near Starbucks. You'll see Poulet on your left. Jamie's Oliver will be on your right. :)
My Ratings (the higher the score, the better it is!)

There really is nothing better than eating at a good Italian restaurant. They are perfect for any occasion and help any event feel classy and fun. I have a date this weekend and I think we are going to find a good one and go there.
